St Augustine’s Men’s Fellowship Group

Coming together to grow and live our faith!

As a Catholic Men’s Fellowship, it is our mission to support one another in our commitment to forming a deep, personal relationship with Jesus, and to grow in our Catholic Faith.

Inspired by The Holy Spirit, we come together as Disciples of Christ, and, through prayer, study, sharing our personal stories and discussion, help each other towards a deeper knowledge of God’s will for us and the living out of our discipleship.

By allowing God’s love to flow through us, we bring a renewed faith and God’s love to all those we encounter.

Welcome Prayer

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

O Lord, it is these words of yours that have inspired us to come together in Fellowship, to lay down our burdens and join you as disciples in this labour of love. You take us into the mystery of prayer, you reveal to us the wisdom found in your Gospel and in your Holy Church, and you show us new ways of fruitful service in your Kingdom. Keep us ever faithful in our devotion to you and inspire others to join us in this blessed calling.

Amen.

Intentional Discipleship

The word “disciple” means a student. It is a word that describes well how members of the Men's Group see themselves. They have chosen to enter the SCHOOL of HOLINESS. The goal is to graduate with a degree in holiness, to become a saint. One might think that such a goal is only for the special few, but scripture directs that all must -  Be holy as your Heavenly Father is holy. This decision requires commitment if the goal of holiness is to be achieved. Discipleship is the first of six components that make up the working model we follow. Go to Fellowship Model for a full description.
